How to use cPanel File Manager
File Manager lets you work with website files directly from your browser. In cPanel, open File Manager and go to public_html for your main website. You can upload files, create folders, rename items, edit simple text files and compress or extract ZIP archives. Before editing important files, download a copy or create a backup so changes can be reversed. Be careful with files such as index.php, .htaccess and configuration files, because incorrect edits can break a site. Use permissions carefully: folders are usually 755 and files are often 644. For large uploads, FTP is usually better.
