How to add MIME types in cPanel

Open MIME Types in cPanel if you need to define how a particular file extension should be served. Enter the MIME type and the file extension without a dot. Most common types are already configured, so only add custom entries when software documentation requires it. Incorrect MIME types can cause downloads, fonts, videos or scripts to behave unexpectedly in browsers. After adding a type, clear browser cache and test the file URL directly. If you are unsure which type is correct, ask your developer or XL Hosts NL support before changing production settings.
